The journey of Veekay began in 1980 with a modest yet ambitious start—operating five bus services and extending into logistics with five Taurus lorries. This marked the foundation of what would become a multi-sector enterprise, driven by commitment and vision.
In 2005, Veekay ventured into the energy sector with the launch of Veekay Fuels. The company introduced modern Bharat Petroleum outlets across Kochi, focusing on quality service and customer satisfaction, setting new benchmarks in the fuel retail business.
Veekay entered the retail space in 2008 by opening its first supermarket under the brand ‘IN & OUT’. This move laid the groundwork for future expansion in the retail sector and underlined the group’s focus on serving community needs.
With the successful establishment of its initial retail outlets, Veekay launched its first hypermarket—Veekay Mart Hypermarket—in 2012. This marked a significant leap in scale and services, enhancing the shopping experience for the local community.
The year 2015 saw the expansion of the Veekay Mart brand with a third outlet, while also stepping into commercial infrastructure with the development of the Veekay and NKS Commercial Towers, reinforcing the group’s footprint in real estate.
Veekay continued to diversify in 2016 by opening a hypermart in Aluva and entering the education sector with a kindergarten under the ‘Euro Kids’ franchise. These ventures demonstrated the group’s commitment to both commerce and community development.
A transformative year, 2017 saw the launch of a 50-villa project in Kakkanad under Veekay Builders and Developers, alongside a resort project in Vaikom. Additionally, the group expanded its retail presence with 50 Express Counter outlets, launched the N.K.S Mall Project, and made a strong entry into the education sector by founding an international school under the Veekay Education brand.
Veekay is poised for a dynamic year in 2024 with key ventures across Mining, Retail Malls, Education, and Healthcare. These sectors reflect the group’s vision for integrated growth and its readiness to meet the evolving needs of society.
In 2025, Veekay marked another significant leap forward with the launch of two ambitious ventures. CAP India was unveiled as a multidisciplinary infrastructure initiative aimed at transforming urban development through integrated solutions across real estate, energy, and technology. Simultaneously, Veekay proudly inaugurated the Cochin Hospital for Brain and Behavioral Health, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing mental health and neurological care. These projects reflect Veekay’s unwavering commitment to innovation, well-being, and nation-building.
